Low on Energy!

The past couple of days have been really difficult for me. I'm usually a very high energy person, but am lacking energy and feeling sleep deprived MAJORLY!!
Here's my daily scenario:
I wake up at 5:20am Monday-Friday. I'm at the gym by 5:35am to do either an hour of intense cardio or 45 minutes of weight training. I drink 1/2 scoop protein with 1 tsp BCAA (amino acids) and eat 1/4 cup oatmeal before going to the gym. After the gym I eat 1/4 cup of oats (usually just sprinkled in my protein shake), I drink 1 scoop protein and another tsp BCAA. Afterwards I eat every 2.5 hours. But about 30-45 minutes after breakfast, I feel rediculously tired! So I lay down (thinking I'll lay down for 15 minutes) and I end up falling into a deep sleep for TWO HOURS!! Lol! So when I wake up, I am so hungry and I eat 4 egg whites and 1/4 cup oats. I eat every couple hours, but am just so dang tired. I have motivation, if I was asked to go on a run, or to the gym for weight training, I would have no problem doing it... Maybe it's me being in the house and "bored" that makes me tired... I don't know. I miss my RAW, that's for sure.
I'll get it figured out :) I'm in week 3 going on week 4 of my training... I'm guessing my body is just doing A LOT of adjusting.
Alright... NAP TIME!!! ;)

We all go through stages of being extra tired Malynda. It could be stress, it could be boredom, it could be that you're not sleeping as well at night. Just listen to your body and go easy on it, it's the only one we have: ) Have you taking a rest week where you do lower intensity workouts for the whole week? It makes a HUGE difference! I notice I can push so much harder and have so much more energy if I go 4 weeks on and 1 week "off". I just switched to all yoga on my rest week and I am feeling SO much better. Take care and remember what we're really here for, our family. My husband had to remind me of that just last night. I can get pretty caught up on this whole exercise game too.

Hugs,
Nicole

Awe I totally hear you Nicole! Our FAMILIES are so very important to us. It's funny because I am making all this training and new journey about all of us, not just me!! It's been so much fun!
And Since this is gonna be my 3rd work training, I haven't had a "rest" week yet. I do cardio 4 days a week and weight training twice... sometimes weight training 3 times a week. I don't feel like the workouts are alot at all... but I will listen to my body and adjust as I see fit :))
Thank you for always being there for me sweetie!!!!
BIGGEST Huggs!!

You know I'll chime in... :)
Consuming a lot of protein can tire people out. When people go to Dr. Weil about being tired, his first recommendation is reducing protein, especially animal protein. I understand you're probably keeping your protein up for your competition, but animal protein is harder to digest and can make you more tired. And, your body probably isn't used to it since you were doing vegan before this.

When we were training for competition, we didn't have rest days hardly. It was pretty much training all week, with most days training both cardio and weights. When competition came near, about a week out, we did double workouts (2 cardio sessions a day and 2 weight training sessions) - plus MAJOR diet changes like carb depleting, water depleting. I tell ya, I put my body through HELL. I wish I knew then what I know now. I sure would've done things differently.

I wish you the best in your endeavors, sweetie. You know that I wish you were still vegan ;) and getting lots of Raw. But, you have to do what you want to do. It's your journey. I hope you get everything out of this that you want. :))

Cheers XOXO,
Kristen
