2 Day Fast Results (Day 18)

Hello!!! WHOA!! Day 18! Already?? Wow! Time flies when you're having FUN right!!
As you know I did a 2~Day Fast on days 16 and 17. I drank the 2~Day Fast Formula from BeachBody and between meals, (the fasting formula) I drank pure veggie juice and/or pure fruit juice. It wasn't hard to do... as far as "hunger" was concerned. The Fasting Formula did a good job with curbing my appetite and with drinking plenty of juice, I was able to do the 2 days without any problems.
If you watched my video on day 16, you know I added the Fruits of the Earth Mineral Powder to my Fasting Formula since I'm Vegan and don't drink Whey. It worked out great. Will I do the Fasting Formula again in the future, more than likely not. Not that it wasn't good tasting and effective on curbing my appetite, but because I am Vegan and I personally would rather stick to juicing for some strict fasting :)
For those of you who aren't Vegan and have no problems with Whey... Then HECK! This stuff is great for you!! There are two flavors, Chocolate and Vanilla. I had the Chocolate flavor and is tasted pretty dang good!! :))

As far as my RESULTS go... I weighed myself this morning and was surprised to see myself down 4 pounds after only two days of fasting. I feel GREAT today. I've been keeping my meals very small since in the past two days my stomach has shrunk and I don't want to stretch it out. I've been drinking alot of water and eating fresh fruit. Tonight for dinner I plan on having a simple and small salad. Nothing too crazy ;)

Today's workout was Burn Intervals and Ab Burner!! oh man!! Burn Intervals is my FAVORITE because we use light weights (5 lbs) the entire hour and we do alot of cardio. It's an all around great workout and I sweat like CRAZY!!! ha ha ha...

I mentioned in my day 16 video that I had lost 0.5% Body Fat... I'm not complaining. By the end of the Burn Phase, I believe I'll have less Body Fat and will have a bigger number as my first month's result. :)

The Dry Brushing Technique

Did you know?

The skin is the largest most important eliminative organ in the body and is responsible for one quarter of the body’s detoxification each day?

The skin eliminates over one pound of waste acids each day in the average adult, most of it through the sweat glands?

That the skin is known also as our third kidney?

That the skin receives one third of all the blood circulated in the body?

That the skin is the last to receive nutrients in the body, yet the first to show signs of imbalance or deficiency?

Detoxification is performed by a number of organs, glands, and transportation systems, including the skin, gut, kidneys, liver, lungs, lymphatic system, and mucous membranes. The dry brushing technique deals with detoxification of the skin.

Dry brushing is a way to stimulate all the above organs of detoxification because it provides a gentle internal massage.
Dry Brushing was recommended by the Finnish Dr., Paavo Airola for his patients 30 years ago and is still popular in European spas and many cancer treatment centers today. The Russians, Turks and Scandinavians have used this treatment for centuries. Dry brushing is promoted as a preventative for dry skin and a way to exfoliate the skin, thus stimulating skin renewal that is super soft to the touch, but there are many other benefits as well:

1. Removes cellulite
2. Cleanses the lymphatic system
3. Removes dead skin layers
4. Strengthens the immune system
5. Stimulates the hormone and oil-producing glands
6. Tightens the skin preventing premature aging
7. Tones the muscles
8. Stimulates circulation
9. Improves the function of the nervous system
10. Helps digestion
11. AND it’s easy, inexpensive and invigorating!

Visit NaturalHealthTechniques.com for explained details.

What You Need To Do Dry Brushing:
To dry brush, use a soft natural fiber brush with a long handle, so that you are able to reach all areas of your body. One with a removable head with a strap for your hand is a good choice.

I LOVE Dry Brushing!!! Do it Every day!!! The results are remarkeable. You won't believe it :)

You can pick up a Dry Brushing brush at any Health Store.

They're the most amazing things you'll ever have!! You can get them from Terressentials.com . They are Completely renewable plant fiber!

I finally GET IT!!

Now I know why I have been sooo damn hungry and wanting to eat everything in my path!!!
Lol... It wasn't until last friday (day 13) that I tuned in to the Burn Circuit 3 Video and listened to what Chalene was telling us. That the reason why our appetites have increased while on the program is simply because we're lifting weights and gaining muscle, therefore!! Our metabolisms are in overdrive. WOOO HOOO!!!!! That's what I'm talking about!! Metabolism in OVERDRIVE!!!
So at first, I got really excited and was telling myself that it was ok to eat EVERYTHING in my path... Chalene said so... ;) he he...

Nope!! Not what she said. As hard as it is... I am doing GREAT at keeping my calories in check!! I want this new body soooo bad!! I'm not gonna splurge... not yet, anyway!! ;)

I'm on day 15. Half way through the first phase!! Wow... really?? That's pretty cool!! :))

I did Burn Circuit 1 Today and really gave it my all. My weights this week are a little heavier for each workout. I've noticed that when lifting and working my upper body... i'm lifting 10-15 lbs. lower body... 15-25 lbs. My thighs are ROCK HARD. No Joke!!! I can't tell you how many squats I have done so far since Day 1... but it's ALOT! and it is showing. No one is gonna want to mess with this sassy chick... they'll get a Rock Hard Solid knee kick to their groin!! oohh!! JK... uugghh, but seriously ;)
I'm really having a lot of fun with this program!! I like it that I now have my schedule down and I know what to expect with each morning's exercise.

Something happened the first week due to not knowing what to expect with my workouts that I will NOT share due to award winning embarrassment!!! Lol.
Maybe one day... like on day 90 or something ;)

Anyway!! I just got some 2-Day Fast Formula that I'm gonna give a try tomorrow and wednesday. Tomorrow is my REST day so i'll have one day of exercise while fasting... but according to the label... exercise is ok. So!! We'll see... I'm thinking I might need to video my 2-day fast... what do you think??

I LOVE to hear from you!!

OK! so here it is!!! My VLOG!!

Burn Intervals and Ab Burner!

Day 11. Burn Intervals and Ab Burner.
I feel pretty damn good right now!! I really enjoyed the Burn Intervals because it was alot more cardio and I used a light weight (5lbs) the entire hour. I love that the entire workout involves squats. I don't know about you, but I look forward to that tight ass and nice thighs :))
After my workout I, of course, had my Recovery Formula. I don't know which one I enjoy more... calorie burning workout... or the recovery formula afterwards. Both are so phenominal and always keep me wanting more.
Today I'm gonna go for a run. Nothing too intense or crazy, just something to get me out of the house for an hour and a half.
I'm feeling "Action" ready this morning... so I believe I'm gonna post a video later this afternoon or tomorrow morning. I'm feeling it!!
So stayed tuned!! :))

January 20th (day 9)

I'm back to Burn Circuit 1. It felt really good :)I upped all my weights from last week. I pushed myself as hard as I could... I dripped sweat and my muscles shook!! But WOW do I feel like a million bucks right now!! Woo hoo!! he he...
I drank my P90X Recovery Formula (Seriously!! I can drink this stuff all day long!! It's sooo incredibly good!)

Isn't it funny how after a great workout (actually, any workout for that matter) you don't have any desires to "cheat" or eat something that would make you feel less than how you are already feeling. Like, you just feel incredible. You want to keep that HIGH and for the rest of the day, want to intake only things that will benefit your body and mind.
AHHH!!I love it!

So! WATER!!!!!! Heck, I always feel soo great when drinking water. I know! Sounds BORING! But it's true, I love to drink water. And when I'm wanting to spice things up a bit... I LOVE drinking Green Juice!! oh Yeah!! GREEN!!
Green Juice is No joke according to the "Princess of Health"....Kristen (of KristensRaw)

"I love Plant Blood (this is what I lovingly call fresh fruit and vegetable juice). Plant Blood is packed with vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. It can do wonders for your body, spirit and mind by helping you cleanse your body, fill you with loads of energy, and make the cells in your body happy."

Green Juice is so incredibly good for you. ANTIOXIDANTS and a great ENERGY Booster! Plus! When juicing, you rid the drink from all the fiber, meaning you won't feel FULL and will be able to drink ALOT more of all those phenominal Nutrients!! Hell Yeah!!!

So Drink up!!

I love to Sautee ;)

Yes! That's right! I DO enjoy my veggies lightly sauteed. My workout this morning (Burn Circuit 1) has left me feeling extra hungry today. But I'm staying in-control... so far! ;)
I really pushed myself this morning with my weights. Gave it all I got. I failed between 10 and 12 reps. I shook a little, and sweated ALOT!! ha ha... but man did I feel on top of the world afterwards.
I had some AMAZING recovery formula after my weightlifting to ChaLEAN Extreme. Then for lunch... THIS:

It was sooo good!!!! Sorry, I had to take a pic and share it... cuz me trying to describe it would sound... uumm... well, BORING!! ha ha ha...
It was anything BUT boring, for sure!!
I heated my tortilla up on the stove, just enough to heat it up. Sauteed some baby bella mushrooms, Zucchini and fresh greenbeans in a little bit of olive oil. I like my veggies still a tad crunchy so I didn't allow for them to sautee too long.
Wrapped it all up in my tortilla and enoyed EVERY bite. YUM!! It was really good!! :)

"Burger" anyone??

OK!!!! Now I have got to share with all of you the fantastic GAME DAY meal I made for my family and I. It was to die for!!!
Since going Vegan, and my husband still transitioning to a "less meat" lifestyle, I always try to make our meals not too out of the ordinary (meaning, things that the family would have no problem at least TRYING).
Game Day was yesterday (a very BIG game too!!!!) So I decided to throw a BBQ for the family. I seriously wish I had a picture of my "burger" cuz it was AMAZING!!!

Picture THIS on your tastebuds: Ezekiel Bread as your bun, thousand island dressing (ours was Vegan... but either way), fresh Avocado (smashed into guacomole), sauteed onions and mushrooms, tomato, little mustard and Ketchup and the patty (mine, a Vegan Boca Burger). SERIOUSLY!!!!!!! It was soooo good!!!!!!!
My hubby said it was the BEST burger he had ever had!! Awwww.... :) he he...
And then to make it all more "REAL" we made french fries with organic white and sweet potatoes.
We ate our dinner at 3pm and by 6:30pm I was a little hungry, SO! I had another!!! He he he... but only half size and no fries.

I think my burger and fries were my only meals for the day (other than some OJ I had in the morning and an Energy Drink while out and about) so I don't think my calorie intake was too crazy. And even if I had to budget my calories, this meal is quite decent. Yay!!

Rest or Hike?? I choose... HIKE!!

Do I choose to rest?? Heck NO!!!! When weather is as nice as this... uh ah!!

AWWWWWWW!!!!!! How refreshing is it to wake up, throw on your comfy running clothes, slip on your hiking shoes and grab ur hiking buddy (mine tends to be my 2 year old daughter or my dog) and start up a great trail!!
The weather here in Arizona is perfect for hiking right now. It's chill but not freezing. and when you're running up the mountain or walking briskly... that chill feels great!!
Today I allowed for my daughter to sleep in and I took my black lab :)
It was probably an hour and a half hike? Maybe two hours. But boy did it feel wonderful, and what a GREAT way to kick off my Sunday :))

I am on the patrol for some better hiking shoes now. I tend to slip here and there on the trail. No Good!!!

I am a smoothie making MACHINE!!!!!!! I could live on smoothies. So when I got home, I made myself a BodyBuilder Hemp Shake!!!(Recipe from www.KristensRaw.com in her Ultimate RAW Vegan Hemp Recipe E-Book) And Oh my gosh!! It was HEAVEN!!!!
Full of Hemp Protein and tastes AMAZING!!

I feel I have started out my day so WONDERFUL!!!

Now.... IT's GAME TIME BABY!!!!!

Day Four and Under on My Calorie Intake

Food Intake:

I woke up at 8am this morning so instead of having a breakfast "meal," I had a P90X Protein Bar :) Chocolate PeanutButter!! Way to start out the day, right!! ha ha...
I enjoyed that with a full glass of water.

Lunch was at 12pm and since I wasn't feeling "hungry" but needed to keep my metabolism going, I had a P90X meal replacement bar (WildBerry) and a tall glass of water for lunch. I was plenty full!!

Snack: Flaxseed Chips and an Avocado

Dinner: Vegetarian Corndog

Calories:
Chocolate PeanutButter Bar: 260
Wildberry Bar: 270
Chips & Avocado: 280
Vegetarian Corndog: 160

Total Calorie Intake: 970 (WOW!!!! Deffinitely not enough!!)

Max Calories Allowed: 1500 (Difference of 530 Calories)

It wasn't like I purposely tried not to eat enough calories throughout the day... I just got caught up in doing so much through out the day, that when it came to food, it wasn't on my mind. Weird!!
Looking at my meal plan for the day I would have liked to have seen more veggies.
Tomorrow's meal plan will be better. Now I see where I need to improve :)

Because my calorie intake was pretty low, I was tired around 8pm and didn't complete my days worth of exercising. So tomorrow I will be doubling up on exercises!! Woo Hoo!!!
Everyday is a "live and learn" experience. That's why it's so nice to WRITE DOWN what you eat, how you feel and what exercises you do, so that way you can look back and learn from the things you can imropve on and better or simply repeat because it was something that made you feel soo incredibly PHENOMINAL!! :)
I've learned that I can add to my meals (veggies and fruits of course) and be plenty safe in my calorie zone.

Days one, two and three

Ok!!! on day one I did Burn Circuit 1, day two was a REST day and day three I did Burn Circuit 2. I feel great!
My eating has been pretty decent. I've been trying to stick to 3 small meals and 2 snacks while staying in control of my calorie intake.
The workouts are about 45 minutes each so I've been switching between hiking and runing/walking to add a little more to each days worth of calorie burning ;) which is probably not necessary since my workouts are intense... but I do feel better when I get out and do some cardio each day :)

BURN Phase

My first 30 days is called the Burn Phase. My goal will be to push my muscles to "failure" in just 10 to 12 reps. I will be learning to lift more weight than I ever thought I could, with exceptional form. In the Burn Phase, I'll be working both my UPPER and LOWER body in each "combination" exercise... So like Chalene says, "Get ready to see new muscle definition appear right before your very eyes!!"
Heck YES!!
